Wonder Wolf

Here’s a doll I’ve been meaning to get round to for such a long time – Clawdeen’s Power Ghouls incarnation, Wonder Wolf.

Wonder Wolf is my fourth Power Ghoul, so I finally have a complete wave for once! I wasn’t actually going to bother with Wonder Wolf, but Mr Bat bought her for me when he got me Voltageous. Now, of course I’m very glad that he did.

Things I like about Wonder Wolf:

* Her heavy-on-the-eyes makeup. I actually didn’t like her facial painting much when I first saw photos of her, probably because (like Sweet 1600 Frankie) her eyes look rounder and closer together than usual. But photographing her, I’ve noticed that she has a darker, more gothic look than Clawdeen usually has, which has got to be good, right? Its an interesting look on her, anyway.
* The hotpants. The hotpants!! Her Wonderwoman-inspired costume is, well, wonderful, and I particularly like the hotpants on her bodysuit which have a kind of cartoon print. Also, she’s dressed in a simpler way than the other dolls in the wave, which I prefer.
* The Moon phase design on her belt and her shield – very subtle.

Things I’m not so sure about:

* Wonder Wolf’s hair is kind of messy. I’ve brushed it through and there are still stray hairs sticking up here and there. I can tell that without a boil wash, this will always happen. Her fringe had longer hairs in it that needed cutting. And personally, I would have preferred a few less green highlights and a flatter fringe instead of the rounded bouffant affair.
* Like the other dolls in this wave, her boots gape by about half a centimetre down the back opening, so she can only be photographed or displayed from certain angles. However, I’ve been thinking about this and maybe this is better than the alternative – my “Schools Out” Clawdeen has boots with no gap at the back opening, but they are almost impossible to get on and off.

So, having finally deboxed Wonder Wolf, I took the opportunity to photograph all my Power Ghouls together – don’t they look great?

They do look good-each with their own personality. Impressive photography-very nice. Tell me who is the cat? She looks fabulously fierce. Love it!

Thankyou Discodiva ๐Ÿ™‚ that cat is Toralei, a Weretiger – her Power Ghouls name is Catastrophe. She’s the “baddie” of the wave … She’s my favourite too!

I love how you photographed Clawdeen, she looks fierce and ready to strike.

Each of the girls is awesome in her own way.
